How to merge and reorder PDFs without uploading them

Combining documents is the most common PDF task there is. Here's a clean, private workflow that keeps every page on your device.

Merging PDFs sounds trivial until you have eight files in the wrong order and a deadline. The goal is a predictable workflow: add files, set the order, export once.

A repeatable approach

  • Gather every file you need before you start, so you're not re-opening the tool.
  • Add them all at once, then drag to reorder rather than re-adding.
  • Scan the final list top to bottom — that's exactly the page order you'll get.

In PDFDig, the file list is the source of truth. The order you see is the order you export.

When to split instead

If you're merging only to extract a few pages later, consider splitting or extracting first. Working with smaller, purpose-built files is faster and less error-prone than maintaining one giant document.
