Turning images into a PDF while keeping quality and order

Photos of receipts, scanned forms, screenshots — bundling images into one PDF is easy to do badly. Here's how to do it well.

Converting images to a PDF is mostly about two things: order and sizing. Each image becomes a page, so the order you add them in matters, and oversized images make needlessly heavy files.

Order first

Decide the sequence before exporting. Reordering after the fact means re-doing the conversion. PDFDig lets you arrange images in the file list so the output matches your intent.

Right-size the inputs

A 12-megapixel phone photo of a receipt is far larger than it needs to be. Compressing images before conversion keeps the resulting PDF lean without hurting legibility.

One image becomes one page — predictable, and easy to reason about.
